Getting Started with Erlin (From Signup to First AI Insights) : Onboarding
This guide walks you through how to get started with Erlin, from signing up to seeing your first AI visibility insights and creating content you can act on.
Step 1: Sign up for Erlin (Go to https://app.erlin.ai/get-started )
You can sign up in two ways:
Google sign-up (fastest: 2–3 clicks)
Email and password
If you choose email sign-up: Accept the terms and conditions You’ll receive a one-time OTP on email Enter the OTP to verify your account
Once verified, your account is created and onboarding starts immediately.
Step 2: Add your brand
You’ll be asked to enter your website or domain.
Erlin uses this to:
Understand your brand context
Capture relevant social and brand signals
Prepare insights in the background
Click Continue to move forward.
Step 3: Select competitors
Based on your domain and category, Erlin suggests upto 5 competitors. You can:
Accept the suggested competitors
Remove any competitor by unselecting
Add competitors manually
Once you’re happy, click Continue.
Step 4: Choose prompts to track AI visibility
Next, Erlin suggests a set of high-impact prompts relevant to your brand and competitors. These prompts are used to:
Track how AI platforms talk about your category
Measure where your brand and competitors appear
You can:
Keep all suggested prompts (recommended)
Remove or edit prompts if needed
Click Continue to proceed.
Step 5: View your initial AI visibility snapshot
Erlin now shows an instant snapshot of where your brand stands today, including:
AI Visibility Rank
Traffic Rank
Competitor comparison
This gives you a baseline before you take action. Click the “Show me the opportunities” CTA to move forward.
Step 6: Review content strategy quick wins
You’ll land on the Content Strategy section.
Here, Erlin highlights quick-win opportunities — topics and ideas with strong traffic potential that you can act on immediately.
When you find an opportunity you like, click Generate Article.
Step 7: Create content (brief → article)
You’ll be taken to the Content flow, where Erlin guides you step by step:
Select content goals and content type
Adjust target location (e.g. country)
Review or change the suggested goals
Choose a title from the suggested options (or add your own)
Generate a research brief
Edit the brief if needed
Generate the full article
During this process, Erlin shows:
Each AI step being executed
The status of the generation
Once complete, you get:
Full article copy
Multiple copy/export options
All generated content is saved in the Library under the Content section.
Step 8: Customize tone and voice (optional)
If you want to fine-tune how content sounds:
Go to Brand → Tone & Voice
Update tone, style, and sentiment preferences
Add compliance or brand guidelines if needed
These settings apply to future content generation.
Step 9: Explore the AI Visibility dashboard
Navigate to AI Visibility → Analytics to see:
AI Visibility Score – overall visibility across AI platforms
Platform breakdown – visibility by AI platform
Competitor leaderboard
After connecting Google Analytics (GA) and Google Search Console (GSC), you’ll also see:
AI vs non-AI traffic
AI vs non-AI conversion rate
AI source distribution
Step 10: Track prompts and AI answers
Go to AI Visibility → Prompts to track prompt-level visibility. For each prompt, you can see:
Visibility by AI platform
Competitor comparison
Visibility trends
In Answer History, you can:
Open recent AI responses
See the exact answer from ChatGPT or Perplexity
Check if your brand was mentioned or cited
View and click citation sources
You can also schedule prompts to run automatically (weekly or Biweekly based on your plan).
